This is a casual gathering of German speakers of all levels, novice to fluent, who simply like to gather on a regular basis for food, drink and conversation. Hello und Willkommen! The Tri-State Kaffeeklatsch meets every 6 - 8 weeks at various coffeehouses in the RI/MA/CT region.  Our focus is on German conversation in a casual environment. The meetups are not geared towards teaching the language, rather in allowing you to practice what you already know.  You should have a basic grasp of German grammar and a reasonable working vocabulary before joining the group. We are friends and alumni of the German Language School Long Island (Deutsche Sprachschule Long Island, www.dssli.org). We are meeting once in a while to have fun, keep contact, and practice German. Share your plan for a field trip or afternoon at the beach with the group. Bring along a friend or family member. Although we welcome and encourage speaking German, we value multilingual conversations, with English likely being the common language.

This group is open to native German speakers, beginner speakers, those in-between and anyone interested in German language and culture. We meet at least once a month, and it's a great way to connect, learn and share. Immer lebhaft, immer gesellig!
